Nancy’s Surf Legacy
Nancy is the originator of the “Learn to Surf in One Lesson” technique, first developed in the Hawaiian Islands on Maui in 1973.
She brings over 50 years of surfing and coaching experience
Nancy has spent extensive time surfing the coastlines of Queensland, New South Wales, and beyond.
Nancy’s deep knowledge of the region helps her pick the best spots, at the right time, for your surf session. Nancy started her surf schools on Maui 1980 and was granted distinguished talent for her Australian residency in 2000.
As one of the Hawai’is pioneer WSL professional surfers, Nancy explored waves from Noosa to Johanna, and even sampled the renowned waves of Western Australia. Nancy’s love for the Gold Coast and its incredible beaches and waves at Kirra, Snapper Rocks, and Rainbow Bay has made this region her home.
She's been based on the Gold Coast since 1998
Nancy began coaching surfing on Maui and quickly expanded her reach, teaching in Japan, California, Oʻahu, Kauaʻi, the Big Island, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Fiji and Australia. She’s been based on the Gold Coast since 1998, while still traveling home to Hawaiʻi many times a year.
In 2000, Nancy founded the Australian School of Surfing, and in 2016, she rebranded her Gold Coast program as the Gold Coast Australian School of Surfing. Today, she continues to offer private and semi-private coaching sessions for clients from Australia, New Zealand, and around the world.
